(Scene dissolves to see Nakago in the ranks of soldiers. Soi is over to the side, staring at him. He looks over at her, and she nods. He turns away again. She reaches out a hand as if to touch him, but instead just clenches her teeth and pulls her hand back to her chest like a wounded bird.)

(Soi stares at him and begins to speak, eyes trembling, arms reachig out to hold him. He slaps her across the face, and turns away, still expressionless.)
