Bad Toenisstein
Mayen-Coblenz County, Rheinland Pfalz
During enlargement work at the mineral spring at Bad Toenisstein, a dedication tablet of Brohler Tuff was found. It was dedicated to Apollo and the Nymphs. In 1886, a similar stone tablet was found, dedicated to the same deities. This is further evidence that the mineral well was of importance during the Roman occupation. The tablet dates from the last third of the First Century A. D. when a cohort of soldiers was stationed at the quarries in the Brohl Valley.
