"Ugh, I think I'm gonna throw up," groaned Elena as she wobbly stepped out of the plane supported by AJ's strong arms.
"Just don't do it on me. What's wrong? I'd thought you'd be used to flying by now."
"Well first of all, the airplane food looked like something a cat had coughed up, then those girls who recognized you and screamed at the top of their lungs giving me a headache, and then came the turbulence, and then there are my nerves"
"Nerves? What for? You don't have anything to be nervous about. It's just us."
" *sigh* I know."
"Don't worry. The next 30 days are going to be the best of your life. Me and the guys will make sure of that."
"Thanks, but all I want right now is an aspirin and peace and quiet."
"The aspirin I can do, but I don't know about the peace and quiet."
They claimed their luggage, walked swiftly out of the airport, threw it in the trunk of an awaiting cab, and climbed inside.
"The Three Kings Hotel please," instructed AJ to the driver.
"Yes, sir."
"I can't wait to see the other guys. I know I just saw you two weeks ago, but can you believe I was already starting to miss you? You guys crack me up. Nick is such a cutie!"
"I'm cuter!"
"Hehe, sure you are I almost had a heart attack when I saw that my Nicky cut his hair and grew a goatee! You've adulterated him! First with the wannabe dreadlocks, then the tattoos"
"I know. I'm a bad influence on the kid, but what can I do."
"Oops, I forgot to call Staci. Oh well, I'll talk to her once I'm settled. She would die to be in my shoes. She has a thing for Kevin you know."
"I've noticed. And Train seems very interested in her, too. He kept telling me about how bad he wanted to ahem"
"Haha. I had to hear that from her, as well. He HAVE to hook them up. No doubt about it."
"It'll be a little hard considering they're in two different states."
"True. But love works in mysterious ways."
"Who said anything about love? All I hear is about screwing."
"Staci is kind of wild, but deep down, she's a hopeless romantic. That was just dirty talk. I know that what she's really looking for is a long-lasting, loving relationship with the right man."
"Same with Kevin. Well, except with the man part."
"Same with me. Why is it so hard to find love these days?"
AJ scooted closer to her and gazed into her radiant green eyes.
"Maybe it isn't that hard after all. Maybemaybe the right person is so close to you you just didn't realize it yet." He spoke softly.
"That's a sweet thought, hon, but believe me, if Mr. Right was within a fifty miles radius from me, I would know."
He felt a sharp pain pierce his heart. "You don't have anyone in mind at all?" he asked with the faintest gleam of hope in his eyes.
"I can't say that I do. I definitely wish I did though."
"Oh." He laid back against the seat and stared out the window so she wouldn't see the hurt in his eyes. Neither said a word for the rest of the trip.

"I miss you, Jen. I'm lonely. You can't take any days off whatsoever?" whined Brian pouting into the phone.
"I'm sorry, baby. This case has taken up my every waking moment. I miss you, too, but you know how life is," comforted Jen, the love of his life. "Besides, you've got the guys and millions of fans to keep you company."
"But I don't want them. I mean, they're great and all, but I want you."
"Brian, stop pouting."
"How did you know I was pouting?"
"I can hear and feel you pout. Listen, as soon as I'll be able to, I'll fly over there to see you, ok?"
"Well, since you can't come here. I can just go there. I've got tomorrow off."
"By the time you get here, we'll only have a few hours to ourselves, then you'll just have to hop on a plane again to go back."
"I could catch a plane tonight and then leave Thursday morning. I'll have plenty of time before the concert."
"Oh honey, even if you did that, there wouldn't be any time. I've got too much work to do. This phone call right now is taking up my scrutinizing time."
"But that's good right?"
"Yes, of course. I wouldn't want to spend my time any other way."
Brian smiled into the phone. Then he heard a knocking on his door. He put his hand over the phone and yelled, "Who is it?"
"It's me Frick. Just to let you know, they're here already."
"Ok thanks, Frack." He turned his attention back to his girlfriend. "Hey Jen, Elena and AJ are back. I gotta go now. Talk to you soon. I love you, Jentay."
"I love you, too, Bri-Baby. Say hello to AJ and Elena for me."
"Sure will. *muah* Bye." He blew a kiss through the phone.
"Caught your kiss. Bye, darling."
He hung up the phone and being the hyper little bunny that he is, scrambled out the door and down the stairs to the lobby almost landing face first at her feet.
"Hey, Bri-Bear!" She surrounded him in a tight hug and whispered into his ear. "Did you ask her yet?"
"Not yet. We haven't seen each other in weeks and it doesn't look like we will anytime soon," he said sadly.
"Aww, Brian. Don't worry, you'll get your chance. Oh thanks, Kev! You're a doll!" she shouted as he carried her stuff to her room, adjacent to AJ's.
"No problem."
"Man, I'm pooped. And nauseous. I don't know about you guys, but I think I'll go to bed now. Good night everybody. I'll see ya all tomorrow morning oh wait. Where's my room?"
"Next to mine. Come on, I'll show you." AJ gently grabbed her hand and led her up the stairs.
"Wow, what a great hotel," she marveled as her eyes wandered from the peach marble pillars to the beautiful stone angel fountain surrounded by colorful flowers placed near the main entrance. She was forced to enter through a side door due to the fact that she was accompanied by one of America's most wantedby women.
"Only the best for our guest."
"Haha. Yeah right."
They walked down the carpeted corridor and stopped at room 136 C.
"There you go, babe. If you need anything or just get lonely, don't hesitate to knock. We've got adjoining doors. Isn't that great?"
"That's fine. The offers the same for you. Sweet dreams, AJ." She gave him a small peck on the cheek, opened her door, and went inside. AJ just stood out there for a while staring at her door.
"Yeah, sweet dreams. What good are dreams if they'll never come true?"
"Talking to yourself, Bone?" AJ turned around to find Kevin standing there wearing a concerned expression. "You ok?"
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
"I still remember, AJ."
AJ, not clear of what he meant, just shrugged. "Whatever." He turned to walk away, but Kevin stopped him.
"If you ever need to talk, I'm here."
"I don't need to talk. I'm fine. Will you guys please get off my case? Everything's fine. Life is great. Good night." He hastily entered his room before Kevin could say anything else. He sighed exasperated. "Ugh, who said it would be great being with your friends 24/7? Maybe I shouldn't have never no, I can't think that. Nothing like that is ever going to happen again." He took off his clothes and snuggled into bed wishing for morning never to come, for when the sun rises, life resumes, and Elena enters the picture. Was her being here a mistake? Will her proximity to him cause anything to blossom between them as he had hoped? Or will it all just end in heartache like it has happened so many times before.
