Dean Garrett's contract is $14 million over five years. He is going to start at center for the Nuggets next season.

The Nuggets signed free-agent center Dean Garrett, who had been with the Minnesota Timberwolves and also renounced guard Brooks Thompson and waived forward Tom Hammonds.

Denver Nuggets fans won't get to see any of the team's games on KWGN, Ch. 2, this season. Fox Sports Rocky Mountain, which recently paid team owner Ascent Sports $100 million for seven years of broadcast rights to Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche hockey games, could not reach agreement with KWGN on the price of air time on the station.

The Nuggets traded two future 2nd round draft picks for Foward Eric Williams. Williams is scheduled to earn $949,600 next season, the last year of his three-year contract.

Good News!! Nuggets made a deal concerning the new arena, the Pepsi Center. They will have to share it with the Colorado Avalanche. As a result, neither the Avalanche or the Nuggets will be playing in their new home this fall, as originally planned. The building could be ready in 1999, two seasons behind the original timetable.
