in the area of physiological psychology one attempts to investigate the physiology of behaviour. specifically, through studying the neural mechanisms controlling behavioural responses. Most often this is accomplished by controlled experiments manipulating the nervous system of nonhuman animals. the goal of these studies is to determine the role of the nervous system and its interactions with other parts of the body in the process of controlling behaviour.
physiological psychology is found within the larger field of neuroscience in which researchers from various disciplines particpate in the study of all features of the nervous system, including; anatomy, chemistry, physiology, development and functioning.
