Hello Geoff, Said Ben Said the producer of De Palma's Passion are producing the new Verhoeven psychological thriller Movie. This time it seems that this is  more an erotic movie à  la De palma's mod ( Dressed to kill ) than a Basic instinct à la Hitchcock's mod ( Vertigo ) ( some scenes were probably inspired by Wilder's Sunset Boulevard ). Script is based on a Philippe Djian's book, a french best seller novel" Oh. . " and includes rapes scenes and bathroom scenes. Starring Isabelle Huppert you can see the poster (with the dressed to kill glove) of this exciting movie on this site.

Of course the poster of verhoeven could be like the Boston strangler' s poster but  the glove is the  giallo typical glove...it  also looks like Blue velvet french poster. ( which share some connections with Dressed  to kill).

Hi, Luu-- I did read that Variety article this week-- I love Verhoeven, so I am looking forward to this. Sais Ben Said has some of the coolest projects of this decade, working with De Palma, Verhoeven, Polanski, Cronenberg. Hopefully he and De Palma can get MAGIC HOUR up and running, too.

Hi, M-- there is no new news about RETRIBUTION, but it assumed they are working on getting a script together. If anything new comes to light, I will be sure to post it.

Verhoeven's THE FOURTH MAN is the closest feel to a De Palma film since Richard Rush COLOR OF NIGHT.

THE FOURTH MAN is an eerie supernatural psychological thriller reminiscent of the great day's of De Palma from SISTERS, OBSESSION, CARRIE and RAISING CAIN.

I saw THE FOURTH MAN in a cinema when it came out in the early '80's and it still resonates in my mind. Highly recommended.
