The original color of the car can be determined by the codes stamped on the tag on the top of the firewall (cowl), on the passenger side. There will be a three-letter designation. The first letter indicates roof color, the second letter is the main body color, and the third color is the lower body sweep.
I do not have color samples of code L, Surf White (Adventurer only) or code P, Adventurer Gold. Those two colors, plus code A, Black, were the only color combinations available on Adventurer models. This set them apart from the rest of the models. I also have no color chip for code V, Spanish Gold, a "spring" special color.
These are the colors and codes for Fireflite and Firedome models:
Code E, Tamarack Green Metallic
Code G, Charcoal Gray Metallic
Code J, Muscatel Maroon Metallic (SOME SOURCES SHOW THIS AS CODE T)
Code V, Spanish Gold (no color chip available)
These are the colors and codes for Firesweep models:
Code J, Muscatel Maroon Metallic (SOME SOURCES SHOW THIS AS CODE T)
