Let's start by showing you more of the body work that I've done. Here's the driver's side as of a few weeks ago. I had all sorts of trouble getting the front fender moldings off without taking off the fender. Once I pried off the "hole" cover in the inner fender and reached inside with a new 6-point 3/8" box wrench, I had success, which you'll see in some of the later pics.
I previously showed you the stripped hood. I stripped the paint completely from the roof as well.
Here is the roof with an epoxy primer coat on it. This is a self-etching primer, and the first time I used it. It went on ROUGH, but sanded out nicely.
Here's the roof after a basecoat and clearcoat, but before any polishing or buffing.
Hooray! I finally (just today) got the block back from the machine shop. I thought it had been bored .040 over, but it was bored .060 over.
Here's how the engine looks on the hoist, ready to be installed. I put it into the car all by myself!
I have tons of assembly to do, and I still have lots of bodywork and more, but at least the block is in the car, bolted up to the tranny, and anchored at the motor mounts!
Thanks for looking at the pictures. I'll post more when there's been more progress. Keep checking back!
