I believe last time I posted pictures of the car being painted. It's all done now, and not too shabby. I have a few problems where the bodywork under the paint is less-than-perfect. Some of those might need attention once the car survives a winter.

Here is the car on September 12th. It's all painted, and I've started to put some of the trim pieces back on. Most of the original clips were shot (rusted) so I bought ones that are available, made some that aren't available, and still have to figure out how to do the roof trim.

I thought I had the transmission problem "licked" because I could get the car to go into Drive and Reverse with the wheels off the ground. However, once the car weight was on the tires, I only had a strong reverse. The "forward clutches" in the torqueflite transmission were shot. I found a completely rebuilt unit in California, and had it shipped my way. That was WAY cheaper than even rebuilding my own tranny! Here's a pic of the old transmission after removal:

Here's the car as it looks now. It's "in the air" so I can crawl under it for the transmission removal:

This picture shows the underside of the Adventurer with the tranny out.

Here's the rebuilt tranny, cleaned up, painted, and ready to install. I took the old one OUT on a Friday, put the new one IN on a Sunday, and test drove the car up and down the street. Seems to work fine!

Thanks for looking at the pictures. I'll keep posting them as progress continues.
