The Power of Stones : Citrine and Ametrine

Citrine is a honeyed variety of quartz. It is thought to encourage a more powerful alignment with your higher self, diminishing self-destructive attitudes and raise self-esteem. Citrine encourages lightheartedness, cheerfulness, and hope, warming and energizing the psyche.

According to legend, it was used during Atlantean times as a focal point for energy transmissions, emitting an ultrasound frequency like a laser beam to cut through denser matter. Applied in conjunction with a form of mind control, it acted as a powerful sedative. In ancient times it was said to have a purifying and cleansing affect on one's immediate area and bridge gaps between the mental, emotional and intuitive selves. Later it was carried as a protective amulet.

This gem influences the kidneys, colon, liver, gallbladder, digestive organs, and heart. It enhances the body's overall healing ability and is excellent for tissue regeneration and after surgery recovery. Citrine is most in tune with the navel and crown chakras.

Ametrine is a combination of citrine and amethyst. The only significant source of natural ametrine is the Anahí mine, in eastern Bolivia. It occurs in veins in a dolomitic limestone.

In addition to properties shared with citrine and amethyst, ametrine has the ability to enhance harmony with the universe. In meditation, it allows you to reach the higher states more quickly. It disperses negativity from the aura and helps in the rejection of material pursuits. Ametrine also allows you to find acceptability with other people.
