Ivory may be white, cream, pink, and yellow. Though not typically an organic material rather than a real stone, it can be found fossilized. “Vegetable Ivory” is considered a suitable substitute if you must use ivory. This is the hard white tagua nut or Corozo nut of the South American ivory palm (Phytelephas macrocarpa) or from the kernels of the African Doum palm (Hyphaene thebaica).
Ivory represents purity. It is said to help one become more analytical and assists in achieving a meditative state. Restlessness, anxiety, moodiness, and derision are dispelled while ivory stimulates initiative, dignity, and serenity. By virtue of its nature, it can bring its user more in tune with animals and nature.
Through sympathetic imagery, it is obvious that ivory will have a beneficial effect on bones, joints, and the teeth. It is also thought to help the skin and circulatory system. Tagua nuts have also been named “headache stones.”
