The Power of Stones : Moldavite

Moldavite is a yellow to brown tektite (meteorite glass), though usually green. It is the only known gem-quality stone of extraterrestrial origin. While the origin of this rare stone is somewhat up in the air, the general consensus is that they arrived on earth roughly 15 billion years ago. Some insist Moldavite was formed from the meteors themselves through the hot temperatures as they fell, while others say it formed of terrestrial rock after the strike.

Moldavite is found mainly in Czechoslovakia along the Moldau River for which it is named. The same stone from Australia is called australite, and from Georgia, it is called georgiaite. Texan tektites are bediasites, and in Borneo they are called billitonites.

Another name for moldavite is Bouteillenstein "bottle-stone." If polished and faceted, moldavite is nothing more than green glass. Buyer beware, some less scrupulous sellers may simply try to pass off normal glass as moldavite. Unpolished, most tektites are ridged and pitted.

Moldavite aids in healing and aligning your physical body with your higher self. It may also be useful in attuning to extraterrestrial or interdimensional minds. It works well with quartz which amplifies and stabilizes its energies. This stone encourages the acquisition of knowledge and experience. Carrying a piece of tektite glass will strengthen your energy field, allowing for more social contact in your daily life. Polynesian elders believed it brought wealth and fertility to all endeavors, and a variety of tektite glass found in the Philippines is considered the most powerful form of tektite, especially by healing psychics and psychic surgeons.

Moldavite aligns with the heart, throat, crown, and third-eye chakras. It facilitates the treatment of fevers and retards the transmission of communicable diseases. Circulation is balanced by using tektite glass.

Note : Do not cleanse this stone with salt.
