In Egyptian myth, Ament (Amunet, Amonet, or Amenet) is the consort of Amon, king of the gods, creator of the universe, and father of the pharaohs. Her name means “hidden” from Amenet. She is a mother-goddess, originally from a Libyan province to the west of Lower Egypt. She was equated with Mut (see Amemait) and also with Isis.
