The Butterfly Dance

Butterflies dancing, by dawns early light;
I watch amazed,
Graceful, fluttering in flight.
Above green meadows, they dance on their stage;
Worlds on the wingtips,
With color ablaze.

Upon all their brilliance, I see as they soar;
Never have seen,
Such beauty before.
They fly, and they frolic, they laugh, and they play;
Entwined in their dance,
On this beautiful day.

Then without warning, all take to the air;
flying away,
Disappearing with flair.
Holding this sight, as my last glance;
I watched amazed,
The butterfly dance.
