Unless You've Walked
Unless you’ve walked a second mile in someone else’s shoes, Or stood an hour in the heat of hurts ………. you did not choose, Until your heart has felt the sting of criticizing tongue, You cannot taste the salty tears, ……….a wounded soul has been won. Unless you’ve walked a moon or more along a thorny road, You cannot feel another’s need …….of how much they love someone.--- There Was a Road There was a road that Jesus walked, From which Jesus couldn’t hide. He had born the cross alone, He was the Christ they crucified. There is a road that we must walk Sharp, thorny briars of pain and care; Although Jesus walks along beside, There is a cross we, too, must bear. There is a hope to help us live, There is a faith to help us die, There is a love to help us give, There is a joy to help us try. There is a crown that we will get When this earthly trail is through. There is a glory road up there Where Jesus waits for me and you. Amen --- |
