Goodness  &  Severity

Of  God’s Nature

        I want to start off this section of the study, but because there is sooo much that can be said about how GOOD GOD is,  I pray that we can add to it by Emailing Scripture specifically to:   StudyBibleStudy@CS.COM

         Romans 11:21-23   “For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.  Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee,   goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.   And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

     This is just a few scriptures displaying God’s character and great love for us!!!  Please help me add more to the list!

     Now in relation to the “snatching away of the righteous” before the Tribulation, God’s character and nature do not change!!!   Whether it is the “Rapture of the saints IN CHRIST” or the sealing of the 144,000 righteous Jews, either way the righteous are sealed from the wrath to come!   The indignation that will come, is to come upon the world of the ungodly, unholy, unrighteous!  Not the godly, God-fearing, those that are trusting in the Lord!!!   “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

Isaiah 26:20-21

20       Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

21       For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Acts 17:31

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Jeremiah  29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Genesis 18:25

That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

Ezekiel 9:4-11

4          And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

5          And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

6          Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

7          And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

8          And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?

9          Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.

10       And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.

11       And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

2 Peter 2:4-9

4          For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

5          And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

6          And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

7          And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

8          (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

9          The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Jude 1:5-7

5          I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

6          And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

7          Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Jude 1:14-15

14       And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

15              To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

     It is a certain fact that the blessed hope of the believer, those that have put their life & trust “IN CHRIST”, who are dead to the world but alive unto Jesus, seeking to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven!!!   Shall not come into the condemnation of the ungodly!!!

John 3:36

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Colossians 3:3-4

3          For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4          When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

I John 2:28

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

I John 3:2-3

2          Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

3          And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
