This subject is probably where
most of the division of pre, mid, or post Tribulation
doctrine come from. Many say, I dont care
which one, as long as Im going, we dont need to argue
about it.
Sounds commendable, like
youre trying to keep peace & unity; but really were
supposed to
· Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim 2:15
· ..that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 1:3
· Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Rev 1:3
· Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Eph 5:17
· Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21:36
If a Christians faith can be overthrown by teaching that the resurrection is past already(2 Tim 2:18) it can also be overthrown by teaching that: the resurrection will not happen; Or the resurrection will happen either Mid-trib or Post- trib!!!
Enough said, lets examine why the trump of 1 Cor 15:52 & 1 Thess 4:16 IS NOT the same as the trumpets of judgment in Revelation!!!
#1 People who
say that the Rapture of the Church happens
Mid-Trib read 1 Cor 15:52
and say it doesnt happen until the last trump (which
is right) but then read in Revelation where it talks about
the 7 Trumpet Judgments and try to connect the two (Which is
wrong)
*the
last trump 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 was written by the
Apostle Paul near 59 A.D.
* The trumpet judgments of Revelation was written
by the Apostle John near 96 A.D.
Nearly
37 years after Paul mentioned the Last
trump!!!
Why didnt Paul give any kind of explanation of what the
last trump was!!! Because everyone knew already
what the last trump was; it had nothing to do with the
trumpet judgments of Revelation which was written 37 years
afterward. The early Church was predominately Jewish and they
understood what he was referring to :
In Numbers chapter 10,
Moses is told to make two trumpets of silver (Redemption). One
trumpet caused the people to arise and stand (compare 2 Thess
2:1; Eph 1:10; John 11:52; Luke 13:34) at the tent door(compare
Rev 4:1) and the other could cause them to march. The "Last
trump" is the Tekeha-HaGodola, which is the last of a series
of trumpets blown on Rosh Hashanah, (or the Feast of Trumpets).
As Paul taught, it appears one trumpet will raise the dead and
the other will change our mortal body.
Exodus 19:10-20
10
And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify
them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes,
11
And be ready against the third day: for the third day
the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon
mount Sinai.
12
And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying,
Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or
touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be
surely put to death:
13
There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned,
or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when
the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the
mount.
14
And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and
sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
15
And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day:
come not at your wives.
16
And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that
there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the
mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud;
so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.
17
And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet
with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
18
And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD
descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as
the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
19
And when the voice of the
trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, (THIS IS THE LAST TRUMP!!!) Moses spake, and God
answered him by a voice.
20
And the LORD came down (For the Lord himself shall
descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God)
upon
mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called
Moses up (Come up hither Rev
4:1) to the top of
the mount; and Moses went up. (Then we which are alive and
remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to
meet the Lord in the air)
# 2 In a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye!
The
greek says en atomo, in an atom of time.
It
will happen at the last of two trumpets which will sound at this
time. At the first trumpet the dead will be
raised to immortality. At the second or the last trumpet
the living will be changed to immortality and be caught up with
the dead to meet the Lord in the air"
Whatever happens, has to happen In a moment, in the twinkling of
an eye!!! The dead cant be raised at the first
trumpet of Revelation; and then us be caught up together at
the last trumpet of Revelaton!!! Almost a year and a
half are in between the two trumpets!!!
