WRATH!

Are the righteous appointed for wrath?

*What did the Apostle Paul mean when he told Christians, "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Thessalonians 5:9

*What did John the baptist mean when he said, "who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come." Matt 3:7

*What did God mean when He said, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end" Jer 29:11

Can anyone escape the wrath of God?

"He that believeth on the Son (Jesus) hath everlasting life (What does the believer have to look to): and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him" -John 3:36

Question: Will God allow the righteous to suffer the same judgment as the wicked???
Answer: Has He ever?

Proof: Psalm 125:3 "For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity."

More proof: Hebrews 11:7 "By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith." The ark represents Jesus, represents safety; "The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe" -Prov 18:10 Not one drop of the wrath of God fell upon the righteous!!!

Even more proof: 2 Peter 2:7-8 "And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:"

                                                        Who will be punished:

                                                        A. The righteous

                                                       B. The unjust, ungodly, sinful and wicked men

                                                      C.  The righteous and the ungodly together

TRIBULATION: (WRATH of GOD)

What is the purpose of the 7 year tribulation?

I believe understanding this topic alone will clear up the "PRE", "MID", and "POST" tribulation doctrines and narrow it down alone to what the Bible teaches; where our faith, hope, and love should come to trust!

Let me state first, that all who will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecutions, afflictions, trials and tribulations (in any generation; John 16:33; Acts 14:22); but the appointed time of the 7 year tribulation, the tribulation of those days as Jesus refers to it in Matthew 24:29; is to execute vengeance upon the world and nature of the ungodly; for it will be such a time that the world has never seen, or ever will again (Matt 24:21). Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse deceiving and being deceived. Take heed, let no man deceive you, in saying that the resurrection is past already or we must needs go through the tribulation in Revelation, so that by either "overthrow the FAITH of some" (2Tim 2:18) This is the blessed hope!

*What is The Wrath of GOD?

*Why will GOD pour out His Wrath?

*Who is His Wrath appointed for?

Matt 3:7

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?  (Is there anyone able to escape the wrath to come?  Who shall be able to stand?)

Luke 3:7

Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?  (Is there anyone able to escape the wrath to come?  Who shall be able to stand?)

Luke 21:22-23

22        For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

23        But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

John 3:36

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.  (Does the Wrath of God abide upon the believer or the unbeliever?)

Rom 1:18

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;  (Against godliness and righteousness OR ungodliness and unrighteousness)

Rom 2:3-11

3          And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

4          Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

5          But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;  (The wickedness of man will be vengenced by God’s righteous indignation)

6          Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

7          To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: (believers)

8          But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

9          Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, (unbelievers) of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

10        But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

11        For there is no respect of persons with God.

Rom 9:21-23

21        Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

22        What if God, willing to shew His wrath, and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: (The allotted time of the tribulation, is God’s Holy wrath that has been stored up from every generation, now being poured out upon this one last generation to pursue the purification of sin and rebellion.  When Jesus comes back after the tribulation and sets up His kingdom on earth during His millinel reign, you see a change, a purification process)

23        And that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had afore prepared unto glory,

Eph 2:3-8

3          Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

4          But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5          Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6          And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

7          That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

8          For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 5:6

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. (Upon the children of OBEDIENCE or DISOBEDIENCE?)

Col 3:6

For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: (Upon the children of OBEDIENCE or DISOBEDIENCE?)

1Thes 1:10

And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. (What Wrath to come??? Are we delivered from it, or is there a certain looking forward to judgment and fiery indigation???  We are not only saved from the damnation of hell, but also from the wrath to come, the vengence of God Almighty,  the allotted tribulaton!!!)

1Thes 2:16

Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost. (Why is wrath come upon them?)

1Thes 5:9-11

9          For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, (Self exaplanatory)

10        Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

11        Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. (Yes, there is comfort in the Blessed hope of the believer)

Rev 6:15-17

15        And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; (Where’s the righteous)

16        And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17        For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Rev 11:15-18

15        And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever.

16        And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,

17        Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

18        And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; (There’s two separate things going on between the two types of people)and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Rev 14:9-11

9          And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10        The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; (the purest judgment and damnaton) and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11        And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Rev 14:18-20

18        And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

19        And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.

20        And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

Rev 15:1

And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

Rev 15:4-8

4          Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

5          And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:

6          And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

7          And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

8          And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from His power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

Rev 16:1-21

CHAPTER 16

1          And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

2          And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

3          And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

4          And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

5          And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

6          For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

7          And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

8          And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

9          And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give Him glory.

10        And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

11        And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

12        And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

13        And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

14        For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

15        Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

16        And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

17        And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

18        And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, (Interesting statement eluding to the wrath stored up since the foundation of the world) so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

19        And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

20        And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

21        And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

Rev 19:15-1615        And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.(upon His church OR upon the world of the ungodly)

16        And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

SUMMARY
Throughout every generation the wrath of God on the sin, wickedness, and rebellion of man is being stored into vials in Heaven (referred to as the cup of His indignation-Rev 14:10), and when filled up to it's limit, the time will have come when God, by obligation (Rev 6:10) will pour out His righteous wrath upon the world, who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them (Rom 1:32), neither have they repented of their evil deeds (Rev 9:20; 9:21; 16:9; 16:11), but curse and blaspheme God even the more? "Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead." (Acts 17:31) Even so we also, will He raise up before the judgment falls if our faith, hope & love is found in Jesus alone!!!

PROOF

Luke 21:36 "Watch ye therefore" (look for that blessed hope,) "and pray always"( be sober, be vigilant, be diligent,) "that ye may be accounted worthy"(1 Jn 3:2-3Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as He is pure. Jesus knows who's living for Him; who's looking; who's ready!)"to escape" (Rapture, caught up, snatched away, seized) "all these things that shall come to pass"(tribulation (wrath of God),) "and to stand before the Son of man" Rev 6:17 (For the great day of His wrath is come: and who shall be able to stand?)
