Recipe of Dango


Mixture A

rice powder - - - - - - - - 300g

boiled water - - - - - - - 250cc

Mixture B

soy sauce - - - - - - - - 50cc

water - - - - - - - - - - - 75~100cc

sugar - - - - - - - - - - - 70g

corn starch - - - - - - - - 2 spoon full

To make Dango(12 sticks):

  1. Blend mixture A in the bowl. Mix them together with spatula, and knead with hands.
  2. Put the mixture on the wet towel and steam it for about 30 minutes.
  3. Remove it, and wrap it with a wet towel.
  4. Spread the dough smoothly like a pie crust and put it in the cold water.
  5. Roll it and divide it into 3. Then cut the rolled strips into 16 pieces.
  6. Shape each piece intoa ball, using water.
  7. Put 4 pieces onto a small wooden skewer.
  8. Heat them in the oven.
  9. Heat mixture B (sauce), with 2 spoons of water.
  10. Put the heated sauce on the dango, while it is still hot.
