Saying Goodbye
*****JOSEY GIRL***** Josie is an angel, sometimes behaving like a little person. Her mannerisms and the looks she gives us speak volumes. She moans and groans just like I do when I get a massage, and she most certainly has her own way to let me know if she wants to go out, or if she wants a treat. Also known as 'Josephine', 'PINcess Joe' and Jo Jo, she is regal and ladylike in her ways. She never laps up food from a bowl, for fear of her face getting dirty. I have to feed her. She loves to dress up and never objects when I put baubles and beads on her. In fact she misses the stuff when I take it off. Josie had three previous owners before she came to our home. Her last owner in Calgary, died of a massive heart attack, while home alone with Josie no one knew she had died, and was not found for days. All along Josie lay by her corpse, without food and water. When the police found them, Josie was traumatized and distressed. Josie immigrated from the States to Canada when she was just a year old. She has a high pedigree and is registered with the American Kennel Club. For some reason or the other she was sold for the second time 10 years ago for 500 dollars, then she was sold again, twice. I have no idea why anyone would have gotten rid of her. She is such a lovely pet so calm and composed and very very loyal. Click on the thumnails of the pictures below and you will see how she acts with John and how she likes to dress up. Her one big weakness is..... men. She loves me because I feed and look after her, or because I am her mummy. Josie will be 12 years old in June '04 and I am so happy that she is so happy and healthy. She still can run real fast and loves going for drives. All I have to do is mention the word 'drive' and she jumps sky high and is ready to go. (even at this age.) Once, her human Dad John, commented about a 'pretty girl' on the TV, she immediately got up and looked at him, thinking he was talking about her. She is the only pretty girl in her little mind. I cannot begin to tell you how much happines she has brought us. Just coming back home knowing Josie will be waiting near the window for us and the huge welcome we get when we get in is hard to explain. I wonder what I would do without it. The day I bacame a 'pet mummy' I decided that I shall look after them and treat them just as I would my own kid. They love you no matter what kind of mood you are in. No matter how you behave and what you look like. Unlike the love of a human. This one is unconditional. Josie and Buddah are always there very near me at all times, and I vow to be there for them. Time is precious and I know the clock is ticking, so I give Josie closer hugs and pay extra attention to her. I check her closely and always keep her warm. For those of you who read this and don't have pets, and think that people like us are crazy. Try not to be judgemental, you have no idea how enriched out lives are. You have no idea what you are missing. Our pets are as precious to us as your children are to you. No difference at all. We have children too so we know what we are talking about.
