Online Shopping: It's great to shop on the Net. So far, I've
only tried to buy books, but there are a lot of other things you can buy. If you're
concerned with security, just remember that using your credit card online is very much the
same as using it in stores or faxing your credit card number. Think which of these 2
methods pose a greater risk.
1. Using your credit card to order goods
through Internet--- risk that
some people may hack your computer or your connection and thereby gaining access to your
credit card information.
2. Using credit card to buying
goods physically from stores
--- risk that the one who took your order may copy your credit card number or someone else
beside you will copy your credit card info and use it to purchase goods. (Remember in
other countries, they only need to know the name of the cardholder, expiry date and
credit card info in order to purchase goods. No need for signatures like here in the
Philippines.
Buy It Online - This should be a great start for
your online shopping. Contains a lot of sites by category. Also allows searching by
keywords.
Book Stacks - Great selection of books. My orders
usually arrive within 2 months.(From US to Manila). Most of the books are discounted.
Delivery charges are cheap too. It's only US$7.50 + 19% of books ordered for air delivery
to local post office. Post office then delivers the books to you or you can get it there.
They have a new feature that allows you to compare prices with Amazon and
Barnes&Noble. If Book Stacks' price is higher, it will automatically lower the price.
Nice.
Mania store - great online comic book store. Operated
by American Entertainment. They usually have ads in comics and have been in this business
for over 5 years. They usually have special offers for most of their comics and online
specials. They even offer more than 60% discount on some of their comics. Their delivery
charges to Manila are a little expensive though but it's very fast. DHL delivery takes
less than a WEEK to arrive. Door to door delivery. Be prepared to pay import tax also. It
will not be indicated on your order but DHL will charge you for it. They also have
excellent customer support. If ever you have complains or was not able to receive free
items, then just tell it to them and they'll send it to you right away.
Amazon - This is the biggest online book
store(arguably) right now but I haven't tried it before. High delivery charges.
Barnes&Noble - Biggest competitor of
Amazon. Unlike Amazon, however, they have a physical stores located in different parts of
the world.
PublicEye - a site which watches online stores.
Also advises consumers in buying things online.
Spree - department store which offers some cool gift items and books. If ever
you are going to buy there just remember that I referred you there. My Spree ID is rtiu

local sites which have started to offer good online. One site is Star Apple computer.
