Guidelines on Submitting Fan Fiction

Hello guys!

Because I am about to go back to school, which effectively means I will have something of a social life, as well as real work to fit around the fun...I am posting this page for fan fiction authors asking for a little bit of help when you submit your stories!

It's nothing big really. I now have a program that will convert regular text to html, which will save me hours of formatting time, but the text has to be a certain format. All that you have to do is to indent every new paragraph, and it will be fine. For example, instead of sending pieces to me like this:

The moon was so bright that silver shadows fell across the land. The Rockies were dappled with shadows of ghostly clouds. The horses moved restlessly on their tethers as a wind raced across the plain. The air was charged, although there was no possibility of a storm that clear night.

Buck raised his head and looked beyond the circle of his tiny campfire, sensing rather than hearing something was nearby. He could feel he was being stalked, feel the danger just beyond the grasp of his senses. Unconsciously, his hand slipped down his leg as he secured a hold on his ivory handled knife, just as the figure exploded from the shadows.

Please send them like this: (do not put the "x" in...it represents blank spaces, but html formatting won't allow me to show it with clear space in front of each paragraph, and you don't have to put the text in italics...it's just to set off the examples.

If this doesn't make sense, email me, and I can give you a better example on email!

Also, for those of you who are sending for the first time, and not sure how to go about it, the easiest thing is to "attach" the file onto an email. Most email servers will have a button or option to "attach" a file. I can read .doc, .wps, and .txt files. I may be able to read others, but those are the ones I know of off the top of my head! If you can't send attachments for whatever reason, you can also paste the text of the story into an email window and send it that way, although often the formatting gets messed up!

Thanks for helping me out! I will take stories not in this format gladly, but if it is just as easy for you to indent the paragraphs, it makes things lots quicker for me!

Also, general rules for Fan Fiction at The Way Station are as follows:
The language should not be much stronger than what you would have seen on the Orginial show.
Similarly, sexual situations should be handled in a PG-13 manner..nothing too explicit, although implied scenes are certainly okay!
No blatent copying of other works of fiction (obviously)
Other than that, everything is fair game! Any length is ok!

Thanks!

Write Safe!
