ventral blood vessel

Oxygenated blood is obatined through the dorsal blood vessels and pumped through the ventral blood vessel by the aortic arches. The ventral blood vessel lies under the intestine and supplies oxygenated blood to all segments of the earthworm. Remaining oxygenated blood is sent back to the dorsal blood vessel and it is used up the next time the blood circulates (Musurca).
