The Horseshoe Lounge, and the remaining Paradise Valley ruins have been demolished and are now history. On December 12, 2001, I ran a Pic o' the Day that said I thought the Horseshoe Lounge would not be torn down, since they went through all the trouble to work around it for the past 2-3 years. Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up.

The 606 Horseshoe Lounge was virtually all that was left of the historical "Black Bottom" or "Paradise Valley" area of Detroit, most of which was levelled in the '60's for the construction of Interstate 75. The name "Black Bottom" comes from the area which was once known for its fertile soil.

The old Hudsons Warehouse is right next door to the Horseshoe. It's being renovated into luxury suites for the new football stadium.

A distant shot of the long gone Horseshoe Lounge. The "606" stands for 606 Adams, which was its address.
