Elder F. A. Williams, Sr. was born in 1971 in Chester,PA and is a young man like many others was raised in the church. At the very young age of 5 years old "Lil Freddy" as he was affectionately referred to, sang solos for many area church functions and at his home church. Later on Lil Freddy repeatedly expressed the desire to do more than just sing with the children's choir. Lil Freddy began to participate in various church functions, activities, and auxiliaries which in many cases he was the only child permitted to do so. It soon became apparent that he was just not in the church but the church was truly in him. The Elder's mother, then Evangelist Lillie V.Williams kept him in the hands of the Lord.
Having a parent in the ministry he was able to experience the full meaning of what ministry was that is having a burden for souls. At the age of 8 "Lil Freddy" adamantly expressed the strong desire to preach the gospel. At such time he was closely observed by his mother and his pastor at that time Rev.R.T.Jones,Jr. During the time of observation after a sunday morning service Freddy had seemingly diasappeared and could not be found. Freddy was later found stand in the pastor chair in the pastors study were he had locked himself. Afterwards it was discovered that Lil Freddy was doing what he thought all preachers did in there, he was preaching to himself. At the age of 11, Lil Freddy had his trial sermon on Youth Day. He entered the church in a oversized black choir robe and big black Bible with head held high, even though most of the people in the packed church chuckled at the site. His sister Evang. Lynette J. Hammond made sure the nationally known Rev. Ernie Davis & the Wilmington Chester Mass Chior of which they both were apart of at that time attended in full to render selections on this special day. His sermon was taken from Luke 17:17-19 titled "Take the Time To Praise Him". Later, at 14 he was licensed under his pastor and mother Rev. Lille V. Williams. Years later we find at 17 Lil Freddy now Elder Williams is ordained with all rights and privileges to the ministry, where he had obtained the highest score that year for the Commonwealth of PA ordination test (a score higher than those two and three times his age). This had made him the youngest minister to be ordained in the Commonwealth of PA, Church of God in Christ history. Elder Williams currently serves as Administrative Assistant, Youth President, Minister of Music, and also heads the Outreach team at Christ Temple C.O.G.I.C. Since his begining in the ministry from age 11, the Lord has richly Blessed Elder Williams allowing this young mans ministry to span 18 years. He is also happily married to Mrs. Diala Burke-Williams with a beautiful family. |
