Raisa Is Gone! bunny
Mood:  blue
Topic: Bunnies
cryingcryingcrying

Now playing: Alex Fakey: "Painted Black" (Syntone Edit) (track: 13) from the CD: "Chapter Trance 2" (Distributed by: The Dance Division)

I haven`t written anything about my bunnies for nearly a year. It`s a shame, but I got my bunny pictures off from Vinnie II`s computer not until we separated. Raisa and Pyry had 2 huge sets of cubs: 13 on the 1st time and 9 on the second time - from which survived 6 on the 1 time and 8 on the second time, despite of all the vitamins and care I tried to give for Raisa especially. Anyway, I think two sets of that size took much of energy from Raisa, and weakened her rather permanently. I was on a holiday for 1 week as I told on the previous entry and my parents were caring my bunnies. But on the 2nd day after I had arrived back home, I go to feed my bunnies right after returning home from my work and find Raisa breathing heavily and her heart beats extremely fast. She doesn`t bother even if I pet her and try to examine her which raises my alarm bells ringing fast and loud in my mind. I call to my mom and accuse them for bad treatment, while Pyry and the two boys Turbo and Tuisku left from the second set of the cubs appears just fine and normal - a perfectly healthy trio. I call even to my vet but I think he doesn`t take bunnies seriously as pets. I`ve noticed he prefers more the animals that are useful - like dogs, cats and cows - and he treats me a bit ugly on the phone and states it would be better to kill the bunny immediately. Not very long time after that Raisa starts to collapse in my hands and makes her desperate struggles, sauys "Ungh!" and after that she stops breathing while heart still beats for a little while - shutting down at the end. crying>

My parents arrived not very long time after that, finsing me crying inthe cowbarn and holding the dead black bunny who had white stripe around her neck, white socks on the front paws and white nose. I put Raisa in a box with dad and we put her to the woodwarehouse to wait for the funeral which we had today. I miss you Raisa! cryingbroken heartcryingbroken heartcryingbroken heart

Pyry Comesbunny
Topic: Bunnies

Mood: Delighted Delighted smile

27th of February, 2005 - just a few days after Pipsa`s death me and Vinnie II go to look for a new bunny. At 1 store we spotted an announcement where someone was wanting to sell their bunny because of the allergy that had appeared in the family. We drive to that place and find a vivid white furred boy bunny with brown spots and beautiful blue eyes. his name was pyry and after a little discussion, Pyry was lifted into a box we had with us and we started to drive back home. Everybody at my and Vinnie II`s place were then wondering his vividity and curiosity. He was quickly leaping out of the box and we had brought Raisa to get to meet him but we had to start protect her from the h###y male. Poor Raisa withrew to the deepest corner under my stairs to get to safe from him. She had spent the past few days looking miserable and clearly missing her sister.

After a few days my mom came to see the new bunny (she had been angry with me for that I had went to buy a new bunny.) and we tried a new meeting between Raisa and Pyry, now when they had had a chance to get used to each other in the separate cages right next to each other. Raisa was again withdrawing to a corner but not so bad as on the previous time. Pyry instead was facinated by the appereance of approximately same aged female bunny and was immediately wanting to make cubs with her. we had to go between and protect Raisa from over excited Pyry. Mischievous grin

Along with the appereance of Pyry, Raisa has now started to get to forget her sister and started to get interested in about this whitefurred newcomer, who looks at times like a little kitten when he gives a certain facial appereances. ^^
Raisa has started to go crazy recently and the sounds they both are giving is telling loud and clear that they boths seem to have "spring in their chest" as to express it nicely. In other words we may expect some countryside/dwarf -mix up bunny cubs later on this spring. bunnyWink of an eye

Memorising Pipsa bunny
Mood:  blue
Topic: Bunnies

On 24th of February I had to make one of the toughest decisions. On the switch of July and August I had brought home 2 cute little bunnies, but while I had been in the Netherlands for the x-mas & new year holiday, Pipsa`s teeth started to grow wrong. My parents had been taking care of them but as far as it has cleared out to me, they probably hadn`t offered enough of hard things to bite. Raisa, the black withwhite collar stripe is the one who likes to chew hard bread, while Pipsa the black with just tiny white little ankle socks, preferred soft things like the carrot slices or apple covers. That resulted to that when I had come home, she was skinnier. I kept following her but she got just skinnier and weaker, while Raisa seemed to be at her best condition. Then I came to look into her mouth and found horrendously long teeth! Confused My parents were on that week on a holiday and it was late in the evening when I call to them and cry to them about how`s it with Pipsa. Mom tells me to wait till they're back (almost a week till that) and then perhaps to go to the vet. I was weighting the possibilities for two days and then I got a time to the vet. Mom was furious (and so was dad too) when I had disobeyed them, but an ordinary countryside bunny that is already over half a year older and weights barely 1kg is way too small! Shocked The vet said I did right and that Pipsa wouldn`t have made it till my parents`return. It was just awfull to watch her when she was waking up from the anesthetics. (And try to guard her from hitting herself to anything when her feet betrayed and she fell on the ground or against a cupboard. This happened on 27th of January.

As said earlier, on 24th of February I had to make 1 of the toughest decisions in my life. I always get very much emotionally attached to my pets, but Pipsa was in front of the same problem again. she had started slightly to loose weight and this time the vet of mine guided me to a pet hospital in a bigger city nearby. There I had taken Raisa also with me (and Vinnie II) when taking Pipsa to the specialized vet. We measured both of the bunnies, Raisa weighting 2,40kg and Pipsa 2,25kg. The vet there put me to decide either cut Pipsa`s teeth again and the same after a month again (they said she would be helpless case anyway) or to give the lethal injection. After crying (and I mean I cried aloud there for a long time) I came to the decision that it`s better in that case to give the injection rather than letting her to suffer once in a month a nasty tooth cutting operation. The vet there was very kind and understanding, I could hold Pipsa when she fell in sleep and then after quite some time I put her on the operating table and the vet gave the shot that ended her heartbeats and breathing. She died immediately. Crying

After crying a lot I still had to drive back home. And there was still 1 very important paper to be taken somewhere. I went to take it into that place and Vinnie II stayed in the car. I was very pissed off when I heard just a few minutes after that people had been staring the box where Pipsa was lying on the front seat so that Vinnie II had had to cover her with a blanket.

In the evening when my dad had come home we buried Pipsa next to Tupuna and Pupuliina and had a little memorial service for her. We all love you and miss you, Pipsa!Crying

Bunny Update bunny
Mood:  surprised
Topic: Bunnies

My bunnies moved a couple of weeks ago inside my old cowbarn where they will have warm conditions through the winter. But looks like especially Raisa (the older female) has surprised me totally. Here`s my latest discussion about them with Vinnie II from earlier on this evening.

Mizeleingzelo de Megazone: By the way... totally different topic. The bunnies have broken their drinking bottle shocked

Vincent "Vinnie" van Wham II: how on earth they managed to do that amazed

Mize: **shrugs** Dunno but yesterday I washed and filled it in the morning and it was just alright. On this afternoon I find the bottle about 1 meter away from the cage without the drinking pipe which goes inside the gage

Vin II: confused ok.,... couldnt it been broken off from the outside by something else

Mize: The pipe I found after looking for it for some time under the cage approcimately below the center spot of the cage. And it was covered with bunnyhair and it was swimming in bunny pee. confused

Vin II: ewwwww

Mize: Nope. Only I have been in the cowbarn and the mice can`t do something like that, hanging from the sides of the gage.

Vin II: *shrugs* weird... oh well smile

Mize: Jup. but once I was already thinking my bunnies are trying to break out from the cage when hearing such nois from the cage. Then when I sneaked to the doorway of the cowbarn without letting my bunnies to see me, Raisa was drinking so furiously that the bottle always started to rise off from its place and hit the hatch of the cage on the feeding side.

Vin II: Hmmm, better to tighten the bottle to the cage then a bit more...

Mize: **nods**

Vin II: smile

Mize: And a few days ago I saw Raisa jumping wildly. Once she jumped making nearly a full circle on the left

Vin II: hyperactive little bunnie amazed

Mize: YUP! You said that darling! amazed

Vin II: amazed

Mize: Pupuliina nor Tupuna NEVER behave that wild.

Mize: Fortunately Pipsa is a bit calmer

Vin II: guess this is a totally different kind or race then Pupuliina and Tupuna smile

Mize: **snickers** they are the same race...

Mize: The mixed race. Shows tongue

Vin II: hehee Shows tongue

Mize: Just totally different kind of personalities

Vin II: *nods*

Mize: Tupuna was always calm, Pupuliina was bossy. Raisa is hyper active and Pipsa is ladylike. Wink of an eye

Then Vinnie II had to go a birthday dinner of a relative of his so our discussion ended like a chicken`s flight. When I was putting each of my bunnies persanality in short I forgot to say that Pupliina was also very scared also, though a bit less with men than women. That h###y little bunny! devil Pipsa insteas has still that baby-likeness in her appereance and behaviour, so her personality as an adult is still more open for changes than Raisa`s. But Raisa and Pipsa are also noisier than Tupuna and Pupuliina were together or alone. But I still miss a lot the first bunny, Tupuna and her always soft and kind appereance. Pity that we don`t have much photos about her. cry

New Bunnies!
Topic: Bunnies

Mood: Happy

Yay! I`ve got 2 new bunnies!

Me and Vinnie II were looking for new bunnies from the pet stores in a neighbor town, but it was surprising to notice how expensive they nowadays are. In 1 store they were selling mixed race lion-hair bunnies for 45?(/$), 1 store didn`t have bunnies publicly avaible but the owner would have had 1 bunny with hanging ears for sale. Price would have been 60?(/$). The third store was selling ordinary bunnies for the price of 30?(/$), tiny races for 45?(/$) and special races for 51?(/$), and I was thinking "Holy loony mouse! Massive inflation at the bunny-prices!" Y`see, 8 years ago we paid from our first bunny only 3,20?(/$) and when we took Pupuliina`s 4 siblings to 1 petstore in a different town than the one from where her mother was bought from, the price of the bunnies which were for sale was ca. 8,20?(/$) per bunny.

I was totally shocked by the high prices at the pet stores, especially when used to that fact that at countryside people give often their rabbits away for free. I was also totally upset about the lousy service at 1 pet store and I was already somewhat ready to say "Ok, no bunnies for me anymore." Fortunately my dad`s contacts came into the picture and he called to me and gave me a number of somebody who didn`t live that much distant from my place, to have some bunnies to give. I called to that person and first he was a bit of willing to give just 1 rabbit but then after discussing with his children, he agreed to give 2.

So, that meant me and Vinnie II drove to that place and found a vivid, very much human-loving mother bunny with 4 cubs of hers. 2 of the children were from her earlier set and the smallest 2 were approximately 2 months old already. We took 2 black cubs, 1 from the new bunch and the another 1 from the previous bunch. The older bunny has a nice little "collar" from the white fur and her nose is also white. She also has white "kneesocks" on her front paws and a little bit of white also on her backfeet. The younger one is almost completely black, except the white "anklesocks" on the front paws. We tried to choose 2 females, but when I re-checked at my place I notices that we had accidentally gotten a boy and a girl instead of 2 girls. Well... That means a visit to the vet. After all we don`t want them to start to make babies. Eww! They`re sibling after all!

Well... You`re probably curious to know the names of these two jumpers, so here they come:

The older female: Raisa Puputti

The younger female: Pipsa Puputti

The Death of Pupuliina Jussiina
Topic: Bunnies

Mood: Sad

Who would have believed from the picture of my bunny Pupuliina which was published here on this blog a couple of days ago that she would die about 3 weeks after taking the picture. I at least wouldn`t have believed that if somebody would have claimed that to me.

But the Lord decided to call her to the Heaven where her mother Pupu Tupuna(Most often called as Tupuna or Tupsu.), father and probably most of her siblings - if not even all of them are already.

Late on last evening I was going to sauna which is in a separate building near of the main building and I had to go to an oldfashioned outside toilet because Vinnie II had already booked the toilet in the mainbuilding. After the necessary visit to the "Hotel Relief" I has a strange feeling I should check out how my bunny was doing. And there she was, in the darkest corner of the cage, shaking at times pretty much and her eyes were full of pain. Vinnie II said she looked like the bunny which they had to put in sleep when he was somewhat younger. Pupuliina`s stomach seemed to be overfull and in a panic I called to my parents, crying that my bunny is really sick now. Mom told Pupuliina`s stomach had most likely gone upset from flowers which my neighbor liked to bring for her and which she could eat, but not too much because the plant which I`m now talking about, is quite heavy stuff for a bunny`s stomach.
So, me and Vinnie II removed all the older hay off the cage and the cabin, threw away all food from there and put new, dry hay instead and hard, dry, white bread into her cage for her. And of course we did change her water too and washed all the dining pots with boiling water. (I even burned my hands with that +100C water!)

**Sighs** Now that feels a bit worthless but at the same time I feel that at least we tried to do our best in that situation. I wouldn`t have been able to get a vet at 11.30PM here anymore. They would have told me to bring the bunny to the pet doctor in the morning then.

On this morning I was sleeping a bit later and I got up at 8.45AM to prepare myself to go to work by 10.00AM and I rushed in my nightshirt (Which looks like oversized T-shirt.) to check out if Pupuliina was still alive and perhaps getting better.
But first thing I notice is that the bread is untouched and that I can`t see her. Then I lifted the roof of her cabin away from its place and found her lying on her left side, frozen still, eyes half closed, paws streched straight - just like Tupuna was right after she had passed away, letting out a little squeack. Vinnie II was next to her to prove her dying-moment but now there was nobody to be next to Pupuliina when she let out her last breath and her heart did its last beat. All I know about when she has died is basing to the odour of death. She didn`t smell then when I found her but already on this evening, around 9.00PM when dad was finally closing the box which became her coffin, she was smelling clearly. My mother had taken her off from the cabin of the bunny cage on this morning around at 9.30 and even she said the bunny didn`t smell, so she must have died early in the morning. But at least that much early that she was dead already when the old man from my neighbor had again brought those flowers for her. Y`see, Pupuliina always came out of the cabin or anywhere where she was, to the feeding place when this man brought those flowers. She never skipped her fave food if her fave people brought it. (And she was a big fan of that old man.)

**Sighs again.** I always take very heavily the deaths of those who/which I have liked/loved the most. Dad fortunately did the burying of her, so I was saved from the worst part. Though when they told me to drive back to my own place with Vinnie II and let them bury Pupuliina next to her mother, behind my and Micronian`s play house where we used to play when we were little kids, I couldn`t just drive but had to run to dad who was just in the middle of diging the grave for Pupuliina`s coffin.
There they lie now, side by side, mother Tupuna and daughter Pupuliina. They both lived quite long lives, Tupuna 6 years and 10 months and Pupuliina 7 years and 3 months. Both of them were inspirating me to create my character Thureson, Rocky`s son who has specialized in the area of shape-shifting. Fave form of him was a brown-furred bunny.

Now I have no bunny anymore. And I couldn`t even move my fishes into this house, so I had to leave `em to my parents`place when I moved in here.
Oh well... At least Pupuliina has no pain anymore. She`s freed from `em all.

Have a good journey to the Heaven of The Animals, Pupuliina!
