Anorexia Nervosa. Two words that have become a household phrase in modern day America. But what is Anorexia? The textbook definition of Anorexia Nervosa is the starving of oneself due to the obsessive fear of becoming overweight. But it also goes deeper than that. Anorexics are sometimes in need of something to control. By starving themselves, they could control their weight. Symptoms of Anorexia are undereating, severe weight loss, vigerous excersize, and loss of the monthly period in females. This can cause malnutrition, osteoporosis, and other health problems due to lack of nutrients.
