What is Wicca? What is witchcraft?

WitchCraft is a legally recognized religion in the United States, as declared in 1985, Dettmer v. Landon (617 E Supp. 529), the District Court of Virginia pursuant to rule 52a of the Rules of Civil procedure. Reaffirmed in 1986 in the Fedral Appeals Court, Fourth Circuit, Butzner, J. (592 F. 2d. 934)

Henceforth, WitchCraft and Witches are protected under the United States Constitution (Amendment I;XIV)

Celtic Wicca is an earth based religion fashioned after the Ancient Celts. They believe in bonding with the forces of nature and with each other in all things above & below. So one of the major similarities that exists between The Craft of the Ancient Celts & the newer religion of Celtic Wicca is that they both hold the earth as sacred. They are both a source of nature worship. You can find many of the alternate traditions defined right here: Other Traditions

One of the main goals of the Celts, that is being continued on by many (not all) groups of Celtic Wicca, is preservation of the traditional Celtic values: honor, courage, truth, strength, wisdom, and eloquence. Most Wiccans display these qualities, even though their main "belief" is the Wiccan Rede which says "An it harm none, Do what Thy Will." They, too, believe in truth, honor, courage, strength, wisdom, and eloquence but from a different standpoint. By their own Rede, they plainly state that their purpose is not one of harm.

So what is Wicca? It's simply another religion, not so much different than your own (if you're not wiccan, that is.) Their goals are to raise energy and attune themselves with the natural forces surrounding them to obtain a perfect balance & existence with nature. They honor the goddesses and gods as One God in most cases. This is but one of the many pathways to the love & fulfillment of the Spirit.

There are many paths to spiritual growth. The Wiccan Way is a path that can lead to a clearer understanding of oneself and the universe we live in. There is much to learn by studying our past, present & future... I have had much help from a Wiccan Coven nearby & many friend's from the internet on building this website, and I would like to acknowledge this fact & urge you to come learn with us today if this is a pathway that you intend to take. We have so much to tell you.

MAGICK: What is magick? It is but a tool and second to the Celts with spiritualism being first. It is the conscious use of psychic energy, accompanied by ritual, It is used to accomplish a particular goal.

Wiccans, pagans of the earth, witches, druids, the Celts etc all practice "magick". This is the magick of knowledge, of enhancement, and healing. It is not white or black or grey. It just is. Depending upon the intent and energies the practitioner is sending out, what he or she is focused on, the magick may be good or bad, positive or negative, but its' what's behind the intent that's important.

A spell is a ritual formula, or series of steps taken to channel one's psychic energy in order to accomplish a desired purpose. Energy may be drawn from within ourselves & others. It may be drawn from nature & many other sources. It is then concentrated and sent out into the world.

NOTE: Not all Wiccans or all Celts use magick.
Not all Wiccans consider themselves witches, nor Witches as Wiccans.
Not all Pagans are Witches.
Not all Celts are pagan. Some are christian.
In fact, & contradict me if you like, lol, even
a christian can be a "Pagan"... according to the olde definition.
Pagan (paganach in the gaelic) simply means, "Country Dweller". It has been modernized, however, & has several diverse translations now, one of which is "heathen".
A christian can not be a heathen or a pagan by this definition, but an atheist or non believer definitely is a pagan/heathen, because it means, "An irreligious or uncivilized person." Irreligious stands, I think. The religions of the Occult, The Craft, Wicca and Witchcraft are as diverse as those of Christians. In fact, there are a multitude of traditions to choose from out there. So choose as you will, Pagan, Wiccan, Druidism, Celtic, Christianity, whatever, or even heathenism if that is your desire, but make no choice at all unless you are sure you are ready for what comes along with it.
