Invoking the Winds Invoking the winds is a practice that dates back to the ancient Greeks and possibly earlier. The power of the winds can give tremendous intensity to your magick. While invoking the winds during spellwork, you must be outside, and depending on which way the wind is blowing, the vibrations of the earth will differ. If you tie a string or a ribbon outside, you will be able to see which wind is blowing by the direction of the string; this will be the wind you will announce your intentions to as you perform the spell. Easterly Winds are associated with transformation, and new beginnings. When these winds blow, use the time to practice spellwork involving new things. This is a great time for creating new spells and rituals, or finding new avenues in your chosen path. Southerly Winds are commonly associated with spells for love, lust and passion. South winds give us vitality, and spellwork for banishing jealousy and selfishness should be performed during this time. Westerly Winds are associated with healing. When the winds come in from the west, work on cleansing and healing rituals. Intuition in the natural Witch is at its strongest during these winds, so take advantage of it and practice your spellwork, especially that which involves using your inner strength to its full capacity. The North Winds are cold winds. These winds are associated with level headedness. So this is the perfect time for spellwork for financial management, and organization.  Air is the Element of Communication. It is the Power of Perception and the Medium of Mental Expansion. Air is the Element of Inspiration. It is the Creative Force of the Intellect. It expresses the Mind of Humankind. You can use this list as your guide to when you should invoke the winds or use the air element in your work. It is the Element With which we Redesign Our Lives. Air is the Element of Clear Expression. It is the Force of Clarity during moments of Pure, Personal Truth. Air Gives us the Ability to Think. It is the Sacred Gift that both torments and empowers us with Possibilities. Air Carries the Blessed Curse of Unlimited Potential. It is a god, a Priest demanding Sacrifices to Experience Divine Inspiration in its Many Forms. Air Gives us the Power of Choice. It is the Element of Discrimination, Which is the Staff of Truth and the Magick Wand of Choice. Air Allows us to be able to Think before we Speak, before we Act, before we give in. Air is the Element of Personal Liberty, Untouched and Sacred , impervious to the many influences that constantly urge us to Change Our Minds, usually in accordance with the thoughts or viewpoints of Someone Else. Air is the Element of Humor. It is the Bardic Jest. It is the Element of Laughter. It Dispels the Lethargy of Our Lives and Prevents us From Languishing in Self Despair. Air is the Element of Music, From the Hectic Harmonies of the Mundane to the Celestial Tones of the Spirit, The Divine. It Encourages Us to Make Our Own Kind of Music and Sing Our Own Special Song.
