The Witch Bottle

Witch bottles are glass bottles or jars that are filled with bits of glass, needles, pins, razor blades ,cactus thorns, nails, etc. Sometimes herbs are also added. Rosemary and Pine are good herbs for protective spells of this nature. The bottle is then filled with vinegar, cider, olive oil, or salt water, and the top is put on, and sealed with wax. Then you must use your own energy to charge the bottle with protective energy. Don't forget your usual meditation, visualization methods. The next step will be to bury the bottle near the house that needs protection. If you have no other place, bury it in a flowerpot full of dirt.

The Witch's bottle destroys negativity and evil; The needles, pins, sharp objects, etc are used for protection from harm, and can draw the unwanted energies to itself. The pins and needles impale evil, the wine drowns it and the rosemary sends it far from your property.

Get a small jar with a lid. Fill it halfway full with sharp objects (pins, needles etc) As you do this, concentrate on your goal and say this:

Lord of Life, Lady of Light
Bless this bottle on this night
Behold this spell of protection
By ancient ways and tradition
Direct all harm away
Into this grave I make today
Return to sender
Unwanted energies
Open my ears to hear
My eyes to see
As I will, So Mote It Be!

Now fill it up with rosemary (herbs). When the jar is full, pour in red wine and say this:

"Pins, needles, rosemary and wine.
In this Witch's Bottle of mine;
Guard against harm and enmity;
This is my will, So mote it be!"

Visualize the herbs and wine doing just that. Replace the top and seal it with black or red candle wax. Bury the jar at the farthest corner of your property or in a flowerpot inside your house.

Witch Bottle Spell II

This is really for protecting yourself from someone who's causing you harm.

Supplies:
4 tablespoons frankincense or myrrh
4 tablespoons salt
4 tablespoons orris-root powder (or oak moss)
1 white candle
1 bottle with a cork or lid
mortar and pestle
parchment paper
black ink or black ball-point pen
black thread

Mix the sea salt and orris-root powder in a bowl. Then cut a piece of parchment to fit inside the witch bottle and write on it with black ink, "I bind the power of (name your adversary) to cause harm. I ask that this be done in thy name, Blessed Mother. So mote it be." Roll up the parchment, tie it with a black thread to bind it, and place it inside the bottle. Fill the bottle with the remaining dry ingredients. Then take the white candle and, while turning the bottle counterclockwise, drip wax over the cork to seal it. Then bury the bottle in a place where it will not be disturbed.
