Game of Life

Why is it we are feeling
The pain that is all around
The pain that changes our lives
When we thought peace had been found...

Why do our hearts still weep
When our hopes are dashed or fade
Are we causing our own destruction
To all the dreams we've made...

Why do we fall in love
When that love just seems to fade away
Always and ever changing
Is it not meant to always stay...

How do we accept these changes
If we can never understand why
Do we believe life is just for living
From when we are born until we die...

Would we keep on trying
If each day were the same
Nothing ever changing
As if life was just a game...

For in games the rules are written
There are no choices to be made
It's all the same for everyone
There is no love or dreams to fade...

But in life not all the rules are written
You must make them up along the way
Rules for everyone one of us
Rules for every day...

For life will not stop changing
Nor people changing too
For all of us are different
As we look at life with hopes anew...

So open your eyes to the future
And open up your heart too
For life is all about living it
