The Road of Life
Where does this road that I now travel
Lead me to, in this fateful journey of life
What are the perils and joys I will face
Can my conscience keep me out of strife
Is my inner will strong enough
To face what ever comes my way
Will the courage of my convictions
Keep me going from day to day
I do not travel this road alone
Though at times it may seem I do
For people come and go in my life
And some will stay, to see me through
See me through the good times
And see me through the bad
Guide me when I loose my way
And comfort me when I’m sad
I have loved and been loved
Made friends along the way
They helped me to find myself
Which has lead me, to where I am today
I’ve felt the pain of love I’ve lost
I’ve grown from the joys of love I’ve found
I’ve learnt from tears I’ve cried out loud
And from ones, where I’ve not, made a sound
For joy and pain walk hand in hand
They are like the two sides of a coin
They each exist to teach us about us ourselves
So we can learn to know right from wrong
The joys outweigh the pain I’ve felt
They’ve helped me to overcome my fears
I look forward to the future now
And to the truths I will find, in those coming years
So as I walk along this path of life
I ask that you share my journey too
For this path may be long and winding
But I know it will bring me home to you
May the Journey home be strong and true
May faith guide you on the way
May love be in each step you take
And given out to those, you meet along the way.
Love and lights blessings
