these oh so distant shores...

How I wish that you were near...
How I wish that I could touch you...
And,
whisper "I Love You" in your ear...
Can you hear the cry of loneliness...
That my heart just seems to send...
It’s that lonely, haunting whisper...
That
only your true love can end...
Do you sense that I am with you...
When I dream of you at night...
When I close my eyes so gently...
And,
wish that you were holding me so tight...
Do you wish all of these things too...
Or, are these just my dreams alone...
Though I have freely given you my love...

I still destined to be on my own...
Is this just a lesson of life...
One that taught me to open up my heart...
Knowing that I could give you love...
Though
we may be miles apart...
For I know how much I love you...
And, I gladly give you that part of me...
I send you love, and light, and friendship...
