Currently there are over 1500 deaths and marriages indexed. I try to add 100 names a week. I started with 1890 because the census for that year was destroyed, but I also added names as I researched some of my genealogy, so there are entries up to the 1970's as well. The index is now located at http://userdb.rootsweb.com/news/ . I cannot provide copies of the original page in the News Journal for free. If you don't mind waiting several weeks, you could request microfilm for that date through your library's interlibrary loan office. Otherwise, my fee is $5 per obit or death notice or $20 per hour. If you know the month and year of death for a person not in the index, I will also provide death and obit lookups in the News Journal (various name changes, but it is the same paper)from 1875 to present.
Other lookups I provide are:
Delaware census for 1850-1930
Wilmington, Delaware city directories for 1814, 1845, 1853, 1857, 1861-1901.
Philadelphia city directories from 1785,1802-1814,1839-1861,1867/1868-1901,1903,1917
Harrisburg, PA directory for 1869,1874-1877,1880-1884
London Times marriages, death notices, etc. if you know month and year for 1788-2001
Baltimore Sun 1837-1918
Baltimore Evening Post 1806-1811
I also can look up anything in the University of Delaware library's resources. I make trips to the Delaware state archives in Dover 2-3 times a year. Research in the archives is also $20 an hour.
Do you need something else? Just don't want to mess around with research? I have many years of research experience as a reference librarian and will be glad to discuss genealogy projects with you.
