Stand By MeDo not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. (Exodus 14:13) The children of Israel had just left 400 years of slavery in Egypt. They fled to the desert, but they had come to a cul-de-sac at the Red Sea. An angry Pharaoh changed his mind and was sending the entire Egyptian army to recapture the wealth of Egypt that they had just carried. They cried out to their leader Moses, complaining that he had brought them that far only to die in the desert. Learning when to move
and when to stand is the greatest challenge for all of us. We are trained
for action, not to sit idly and wait. We are trained to solve problems,
to take matters into our own hands, to not wait for them to resolve
themselves. However, God says there are times to wait, wait until He
says GO. If we go before He says so, we will likely worsen our situation.
Had the Israelites attempted to cross the Red Sea before it parted by
the powerful east wind of God, they all would have drowned. If they
had fled north to avoid the chariots of the Egyptians, God would not
have moved in a miraculous way like He did. Copyright © 2002 Eddy Ministries. All rights reserved. Subscribe/Unsubscribe:
