The Secret of Your Success“This Book of the Law [the Word of God] shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8) Good success is a way of life that comes from being firmly rooted in the Word of God. The secret of your success does not come from self-help books, expensive Tony Robbins seminars or that Michael J Fox movie. It comes from spending so much of your time and your thought life on the Bible, the Word of God, that it becomes not just second nature, but first nature. It comes from hearing and obeying the Word so consistently that it begins to guide your actions even when you’re not consciously thinking about it. It becomes your Basic Instinct as you forget Sharon Stone and put on the mind of Christ and make Him the Chief Cornerstone of your life. When I started playing golf, I learned to train myself by getting golf magazines and reading it again and again. In my mind’s eye, I’d visualize everything that could occur in that swing, putt or pitch. I trained myself by meditating on what I needed to do. And that’s what I started doing with the Word of God a few years ago, except I had much more passion for God than for golf. I thought about the Word day and night and gave up golf for the time being. Before long, I started getting excited about what I was reading and just can’t wait to share with others. I’d sit at home and think about how I’d apply the Word in different situations, how I’d make a sermon out of a movie, a TV show, a song, a common saying or something from popular culture. I’d see myself praying for the sick and the broke and having them recover. The Word of God became first nature to me and I see myself blessed as a child of God with a glorious inheritance living the life of heaven on earth. I see myself more gifted as The Natural than Robert Redford, receiving the transfer of wealth from the wicked so I can finance the preaching of the gospel. I see billions of lost or wandering souls being saved in my lifetime and in fact, this decade. I see myself coming out of the caves of debt, distress and discontent and usher in the coming of God’s magnificent glory in these last days. Practice meditating on the Word of God daily with diligence and passion. Let it become an integral part of you. See yourself obeying it in every possible circumstance. Get to know God better for He loves you and only wants the best for you.
