Panic Room

“Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who delight greatly in His commandments [the Word of God]. He will not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.” (Psalm 112:1,7)

The believer who makes a habit of delighting in God’s Word will have a heart that’s fixed! He can make it through dangerous situations without losing balance. His beautiful mind is made up before he ever gets to the danger and he’s a winner before he ever gets there. A person like that can handle any storm of life, even The Perfect Storm without George Clooney! But the sad thing is most believers wait until disaster hits before they
establish themselves on the Word of God. They wait until their back is against the wall to dust their Bible, to get spiritual and start fasting and praying. And all too often they find out they’re too late and God won’t return the call from someone who does not spend quality time with Him.

That’s like a guy who finds out armed intruders are in his house and then starts heading for the Panic Room, only to find out that the house doesn’t have one and Jodie Foster is nowhere near to save him. He’s not gonna make it! If he’d been working hard to build his very own Panic Room based on the refuge of the Word of God instead of watching Sex and the City, he’d have been ready. But as it is, he’s headed for a painful defeat. Be ready before the devil breaks into your house. Get your heart fixed. Turn off the TV, be ready, willing, but not cable. Turn off the distractions of the world and turn on the Word of God. The time to start establishing yourself on it is right NOW before you panic for a lack of knowledge of the Word of God.
