The Big Apple

“He found him [Jacob] in a desert land, and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.”
(Deuteronomy 32:10)

Did you know that you are the apple of God’s eye? That means you are His most precious child and heir to an inheritance of glory. You are made in His image and He protects and watches over you very carefully. You are the Big Apple, whether you live in New York City or not. When the weather is cold, I add layers of clothes to keep warm. When I need the assurance of God’s presence, I wrap myself in layers of Word-based affirmations through prayer and meditation on God’s Word. These are some Bible verses that bring me comfort and will do the same for you.

When I am sick – God says – by His stripes you are healed (Isaiah 53:5)
When I feel all alone – God says – I will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)
When I get worried – God says – Cast all your cares on Me (1 Peter 5:7)
When I am afraid – God says – I have not given you a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7)
When I am broke – God says – I will supply all your needs according to My riches in glory (Philippians 4:19)
When I need to feel God – God says – Draw near to Me and I will draw near to you
(James 4:8)
When I can’t do it – God says – My grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9)
When I am too tired – God says – I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28)
When things seem impossible – God says – All things are possible (Luke 18:27)
When nobody loves me – God says – I love you (John 13:34 & John 3:16)
When I can’t forgive myself – God says – I forgive you (Romans 8:28 & 1 John 1:9)
When I am not wise enough – God says – I will give you wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:30)

Have faith that God is with you for He is protecting, guiding and loving you always. The love of God is surrounding you. When you feel lost or confused, regain your composure by knowing that God loves you unconditionally. You may be Unfaithful like Diane Lane, but God is always faithful and He will treat you much nicer than Richard Gere. Be at peace for God’s protecting presence is with you always. Be eternally grateful that God has prepared the way, the path of life, before you. Wherever you go, whatever you do, know that the protecting presence of God is with you and the Salvation Army of angels are there for you. Because, YOU are the Big Apple, the apple of God’s eye.
