Liar, Liar

“He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he [the devil] speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources; for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John 8:44)

Many believers find it difficult to believe God’s promises because they’ve seen so many things in the natural world that seem to contradict them. They’ve seen tithers go broke, givers not getting their harvests, the wicked prosper and the sick not getting healed. But the truth is they just think they’ve seen those things. Because there’s a master deceiver at work in the world, who’s busily doing the same thing ever since the Garden of Eden – bamboozling Adam and mankind into believing God’s Word isn’t true. This master deceiver is the father of all lies and he makes the Jim Carrey character in Liar Liar looks like an altarboy.

After lying for thousands of years, the devil’s a master at it. He is like Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men, he just can’t handle the truth. Think about that the next time he tries to make things look as though God’s Word is not going to work for you, when he makes it look like all hope is lost. Just say NO and “I don’t care about appearances for they are only temporal and are subject to the finality of God’s Word. I believe the Word and I refuse to doubt it.” Where the Word of God is concerned, you simply need to learn to trust it and rely on it to such an extent that when satan shows you something in the natural that appears to contradict it, you just say, “I saw that, but I’m not going to believe it. I’m just going to stick with the Word for the Word of God is the final authority in my life.” If you’ll do that, the father of lies will never be able to put one over you.
