The Gift“A present is a precious stone in the eyes of its possessor; wherever he turns, he prospers.” (Proverbs 17:8) If I could give you a gift, the Word of God is what I’d give you and I have been doing just that with these e-mails. I’d rather give you the unadulterated wisdom of God than give you a briefcase loaded with Benjamins. You can spend money real quick in this day and age and be broke in no time like MC Hammer, but the timeless truth of God’s Word never quits, and it will get you out of sticky situations money can’t get you out of. Just like the MasterCard commercial where you can put a price on material things, the Word of God is priceless. With the Word on your side, you don’t need Ice-T to get to know All About the Benjamins. Unlike Cate Blanchett who has The Gift, I am just an ordinary believer. But when I latched onto the Word of God, I latched onto something out of the ordinary, something EXTRAordinary that changed my life inside out and upside down. Indeed every area of my life – body, soul, spirit, relationships and finances. Nothing that has happened has happened because of what I do, it happened because of the intrinsic power of God’s Word. In fact, I don’t even have to know you to promise you this: If you give God’s Word your full undivided attention, put God FIRST and get yourSELF off the throne of your life, and not be afraid of His will [which is in His Word] for your life, you will be happier, highly favored, healthy, whole, blessed and more prosperous than anything your limited human mind could ever conjure up. If you do that, people may call you extreme. They say that about me all the time but I don’t mind and in fact, I just love it. Why not as many are into extreme sports just for the thrill of it. I am extreme for God and I am not chasing Him just for the thrill but to be just like Him, to be in His presence, to bask in His glory as His son and heir to a rich inheritance. Why be like Mike [Michael Jordan] when you can be like God Almighty? Does celebrities like Jordan care for you like God does? And if you’ll set your faith on the Word of God, you can be extreme too.
