UnforgivenAnd whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. (Mark 11:25) Few people realize just how closely connected faith and forgiveness are. Jesus taught about that connection in His sermon on mountain-moving faith in Mark 11:23-26. There He said, Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him. Jesus tied those two sentences intentionally as He wanted us to know that releasing those who have wronged us is a condition precedent to receiving from God. He wanted to impress on our hearts that we cannot have our prayers answered and hold grudges at the same time. Unforgiveness clogs the faith channel, prevents you from receiving the blessings of God and keeps you powerless against the mountains of life. If you’ve been praying for something and you just can’t seem to get an answer, check your heart for unforgiveness. Don’t be Unforgiven like Clint Eastwood, ask the Holy Spirit to bring any grudge that’s hidden to light and forgive the person who has wronged, abused or cheated you so that God will forgive you for your sins. Then release the vengeance to God for that IS His business. Vengeance is Mine says the Lord. God will then give you Payback with more interest than Mel Gibson and inflict Judgment Day with more special effects than Arnold on the forgiven party, for the law of sowing and reaping always applies. Unclog the channel of faith with The Terminator of forgiveness and you will soon see things you’ve been praying for materialize. Forgiveness doesn’t just enlightens, it pays!!
