Burnt Offering“He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi and purge them as gold and silver. That they may offer to the LORD an offering in righteousness. Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasant to the LORD, as in days of old, as in former years.” (Malachi 3:3-4). God has a specific manner of preparing His people for service in these last days as He desires to turn us from rough, hard-edged Rolling Stones into precious metals of gold and silver for His use. The refiner’s fire can only accomplish its purposes when the heat is turned up to extraordinary temperatures. It breaks down the metal in order for it to become moldable and shapeable. Only when temperatures reach this level can the work be fully accomplished and Mick Jagger gets his Satisfaction. So it is in our lives when The Heat Is On. Until God completes His refining process, the offerings we make are not made in righteousness and is not acceptable to God. Thank God that Jesus is our righteousness, our Jehovah Tsidkenu, and that there is no righteousness apart from Him. Still, El Shaddai, the God who is more than Enough, who is bigger than J. Lo, continues to purge all the unrighteousness from our lives. This comes only through trials and tribulations that bring each of us to the end of ourselves, to death of SELF so that we may reflect His Shekinah glory. None of us, none of Jennifer Lopez, and ALL of Him. When God turns on the heat, FEAR NOT, be encouraged and shout “Come on baby, light my fire!” because it is His commitment to turn you from a rough Sharon Stone into a precious metal, from an earthen vessel into Men of Honor more powerful than Cuba Gooding and Robert DeNiro set apart for His use. God will do this through painful events in finance, business, health, relationships, and other circumstances in your life. It is our job to avoid blowing out the fire so that we can be a Burnt Offering acceptable to God, so that we are more than fine, so that One Fine Day we can be more refined than George Clooney.
