Death Becomes Him“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than [not the angels but Elohim or God Himself] for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that He by the grace of God might taste death for everyone.” (Hebrews 2:9) With what is going on in the world, death is not a very tasty topic at dinner parties these days. So many believers are scared of it even though the Bible promised them eternal life. When the devil tries to threaten them with sickness, disease, lack, terror, or oppression, they head for the Panic Room because they don’t see death through God’s eyes. Even though their spirit has been made immortal, they haven’t renewed their minds to envision that truth. If they had, when the devil tried to scare them, they can just laugh like Scooby Doo and say, “I am not afraid, I am not even kinda afraid for I’ve done all the dying I’m ever gonna do!” The Bible in John 8:51 says that we, as born-again believers, will never see death. Jesus, not some Die Hard named Bruce Willis, has been our substitute for Death Becomes Him. He suffered death so you and I don’t have to. When Jesus was resurrected on the third day, Hebrews 2:14-15 says, “through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil; and released those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” If Jesus is the Saviour and Lord of your life, the only death you’ll ever feel is behind you, for it occurred the minute you received Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing that removes burdens and destroys yokes. From that moment, your old SELF whose nature was to sin and rebel against God just died. Your body didn’t die, but your spirit man died to the devil and his sinister works. You became a new creature of 2 Corinthians 5:17 or what Sony/Columbia Pictures calls The New Guy, incapable of death, and more Immortal Beloved than Gary Oldman or Beethoven. When you’re finished on earth, you may get Attacked by The Clones but you’re not going to die. You’ll simply drop your earth suit and get beamed up by Scotty to a far more glorious place. Read your Bible and enjoy God’s view on death. Once the reality of your immortal nature begins to dawn on you, no devil or loose nuke will be able to threaten you for with God, The Sum of All Fears is a big fat zero.
