FaithfulA faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished. (Proverbs 28:20) What's the difference between the Promised Land and Egypt? In the old paradigm of Egypt, a person sweats and toils, even cheats and steals and works overtime seven days a week to produce something. The final objective, be it money or power, is the only thing that counts where the ends justify the means. In the Promised Land, however, obedience to the Word of God is all that matters. We are called to DO, even Scooby Do, and leave the outcome to God. The result may be positive, yielding a return or it may not yield any return at all. We may even suffer but the difference is we know we have been Faithful to what God has called us to do and we, like Greyhound, leave the driving to God. God then will bless our obedience with so much bountiful blessings that it pays to be Faithful. God may call each of us to be obedient to situations that may not yield instant gratification. It is in these tough times that our faith must be based on the Word of God and not based on results envisioned by our carnal mind. This is what Faithful really means, not like that movie with Cher and Ryan ONeal. What if Jesus had considered whether he should get nailed to the cross or not? That would have been a no brainer but for Him there was a much bigger purpose in that obedience the salvation of the world, the defeat of the devil, the ascension to heaven and the glory. We are called to pursue this same kind of obedience, to be Semper Fi, always faithful, like the Marines. This means crucifying our flesh daily, dying to SELF, obeying the Word of God and doing whatever it says. Copyright © 2002 Eddy Ministries. All rights reserved. Subscribe/Unsubscribe:
