The Living Daylights“So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. They did not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.” (Exodus 10:22-23) Long before James Bond in the story of Exodus, when thick darkness surrounded the Egyptians, ALL the children of Israel had The Living Daylights in their dwellings. The Word of God says in Psalm 91 that no evil can come near your house, much less living in it like Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil, if you are abiding in Him. In John 16, Jesus says He has deprived the world of power to harm you. God never intended for you to experience all the calamities the world suffers. God has always wanted His children to live far above it, to stand out as Jack Nicholson in The Shining, as light in a very dark world. In the Bible, God’s glory was established because of the miracles He had worked for His children. That same thing should be true today with you and me. We should be glorifying God by the miraculously victorious lives we live. People should be coming to us and saying, “I know How Stella Got Her Groove Back but I really wanted to know how God healed you.” Or, “I’ve heard how your children were delivered from the witchcraft of Harry Potter” Or, “I see you are much more blessed than Jerry Maguire because you are always giving, can you Show Me The Money?” Or, “I’ve seen you are Fearless like Jeff Bridges, tell me about The Sum of All Fears and The Born Again Identity.” Satan, the big fat Liar Liar that he is, would spread false rumors to make you believe you have to suffer with the world instead of living La Dolce Vita. He doesn’t want people running after you asking where you get your power, your blessings, your peace[wholeness], your health and prosperity. But that’s exactly what God wants to happen. Let the Word of God, not Debbie Boone, Light Up Your Life and expect to receive the bountiful blessings God has promised you.
