The Curse of the Jaded TreeChrist has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, (for it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.) (Galatians 3:13) In the Garden of Eden , the devil came to Eve in the form of a serpent and deceived her into disobeying God. Adam was not deceived, but followed his wife anyway. The devil didn't have any power at all, he had to sneak his way in, not talking to Adam directly but talking to Eve. Adam should have kicked him out right there and then, but instead committed high treason by disobeying the command God had given him not to touch that forbidden fruit. When Adam did what the devil told him to do, he made Satan the god of this world and long before Flip Wilson, Hitler, Stalin, Gordon Gekko and Enron, the devil was able to make people do The Evil That Men Do. In submitting to Satan, Adam gave him the authority and dominion that God had given man. He made Satan the illegitimate ruler of the earth. Through the sin of one man Adam, death through sin passed to all of us per Romans 5:12 and the earth and its fullness was suddenly cursed. The good news is God foreknew this and He sent Jesus to be made a curse for us by having Him hang on a tree known as the cross. Through the precious Blood of Jesus, God set us free and redeemed us from the curse that Adam brought. Unlike Woody Allen who can barely deal with The Curse of the Jade Scorpion, we have been delivered from the curse of God in Deuteronomy 21:23, The Curse of the Jaded Tree. The moment you made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, you were delivered from Satan and redeemed from the curse. The curses of poverty, sickness, terror, oppression and the rest in Deuteronomy 28:15-68 are still out there, but now you have authority over all of them in the Name of Jesus.
