Show God the Money“No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money].” (Matthew 6:24) Contrary to what you may believe, God is not against you having money, He’s simply against money having you and owning you. God is against you making money your god, your priority and putting your trust in it instead of in Him. God knows money makes a lousy god, that’s why He has In God We Trust on every dollar bill that’s been printed. The power of money is so limited, it will only buy so much, and even with a Master Card, it will only go so far as there are so many priceless things money just cannot buy. If you need healing from brain cancer, money won’t help you. If your family is falling apart and your kids like to watch The Osbournes on MTV, money won’t fix it. Money can buy a house but cannot make a home. Money can buy a mattress but cannot give you sleep. Money can buy sex and may be get you a wife but cannot give you love. Money can pay for the wedding but cannot give you a good marriage. Money can buy a cemetery plot but will not get you into heaven. But if you’ll do what the Bible says in Matthew 6:33 and seek God first, God will Show You The Money for He has so much more of it than Jerry Maguire and His prosperity and blessings will literally chase you down and reach into every area of your life. God the Father is so generous that He desires you to have the best on earth, just as you desire the best for your children. His plan is for you to have all of your needs met according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Get in on that plan by keeping your priorities straight. Seek Him first and His righteousness, and ALL the things that you seek will be added unto you. Don’t be like Ford, make your motto Pleasing God is Job One. Show God The Money, show Him that money is NOT your god by giving, by paying your tithes and offerings, by serving Him with your money, by constantly sowing so you’ll always be reaping. Remember the acronym SHARE, which stands for Sow Happily And Reap Endlessly. Set your eyes on God above all else, and all the good things of life that you want will be added unto you.
