Keeping The Faith“do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith AND patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:12) You’ve been walking with God, living by faith, speaking the Word over your life and you’ve been believing God to meet all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. But what happens when the results are glacially slow in coming and you are tempted to give up? Relax, trust God for His timing, be patient and be thankful that we are still one nation under God. And be like Ben Stiller and Edward Norton in Keeping The Faith, or else you may not get Jenna Elfman! When it comes to receiving from God, patience is just as important as faith for faith and patience are the power twins. Patience will make the difference between success and failure. Patience undergirds and sustains faith until the result is manifested. After you have meditated on the promises of God and have them in your spirit, patience will help you rock steady. Patience is what it takes to keep the faith, for it has the strength to refuse the devil’s lies that say the Word is not working. Patience knows that God’s Word has never failed, God is faithful and that there is power and life in the Word. Patience will not cower in fear like Scooby Doo but will press forward in faith until you have The Final Answer that Regis Philbin never expect, that makes you feel like a Millionaire. When the results of your faith seem slow in coming and you are getting slothful, when the mammoth payouts on your tiger investments seem like they’ve been Enroned, when harvest time feels like it’s been frozen in an Ice Age, just keep on keeping on, keep on sowing and doing good. Don’t give up, keep on giving and don’t give in to the lies of the devil or to your circumstances no matter how frigid they may be. Put the Word of God first in your life, praise Him for the answer and thank Him before it arrives, wait with patience, keep the faith, and with faith AND patience you will surely receive the promises of God!
