Bosom Buddies“Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6:38) The law of giving is very simple, give, and it will be given to you. If you are a tightwad and give by the spoonfuls, however, don’t expect to receive by the truckloads. There are many believers who don’t know this universal law and some even think that it’s wrong to expect to receive when they give. Just as it is irresponsible for a farmer to sow seeds and expect his crops to rot, it is as irresponsible for us to give financial seeds to others and ignore the harvest God promised, especially when that harvest could help finance the preaching of the gospel of salvation to the billions of lost and dying souls in the world today. God wants us to receive a plentiful harvest from the financial seeds that we sow. He wants us to be so blessed with so many goodies as men give to our bosoms that the world, not Tom Hanks, is our Bosom Buddies. God wants us to have abundance, not so we can hoard it selfishly for ourselves and by ourselves, but so that we can give generously to ministries that spread the Word and do good works. So the next time you give, don’t be afraid to expect a harvest. Release your faith to reap the rewards that God has promised you in His Word. Then, when they come, do not eat all your seeds but turn around and sow them again. Keep the flow of giving and receiving going constantly so God Almighty can bless the world richly through you.
