The Principal“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.” (Proverbs 4:7-9) The only Divine Secret to getting ahead in this world, the kind you’ll never get from the Ya Ya Sisterhood, is to put the Word of God FIRST place in your life. God says that wisdom is The Principal thing. Principal means first in importance, and that means the Word of God needs to occupy the place of highest importance in your life. Principal has the same root as the Italian word principe meaning prince. Principal also means your money without the interest, so if you get wisdom, you’ll get the money and you’ll get royal status and that’s exactly what happened to King Solomon when he asked God for wisdom. The Bible is not just a prayer book, a storybook, a poetry book, a history book, or a prophecy book. It is God’s instruction manual and it is a handbook for living. In fact, BIBLE stands for Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth. The Bible or Tanak is the wisdom of God written down so that, without Cameron Diaz, you and I can live A Life Less Ordinary. The Principal is not a James Belushi movie about a high school principal nor is it a story about Victoria Principal. The Principal is about what’ll happen in your life when you give God’s Word number one priority. There’s a book out there called Self Matters, and nothing can be further from the truth, for it is the Word that matters. Don’t be tempted to put yourSELF on the throne of your life and don’t wait until you think you have the time for the Word of God. The devil will keep you busy and see to it that you never do. There’s a honky tonk song called “If You’ve Got The Money, I’ve Got The Time” by Lefty Frizzell. Well, God’s got all the money for He owns it all, so why don’t you make the time? Purposely set things aside for God, stop chasing money or Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places and invest your time in the Word first, and let the blessings from the wisdom of God- the promotion, honor, grace and glory- literally chase you down.
